Job Summary:

Receptionist and Administrative Support

Essential Job Duties:

Answer incoming calls. Work closely with sales associates to relay information and follow up with customers
Greet visitors. Announce visitors to appropriate party.
Display professionalism and a sense of pride in all aspects of his/her duties and responsibilities.
Establish a strong rapport in client relationships as well as with internal and external sales associates and vendors.
Provide administrative support by filing or typing / word processing using Microsoft Word, Excel, database and / or other software.
Maintain conference room schedule at location.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Other Job Functions:

Keep reception area and any adjacent conference areas neat and orderly.
Distribute facsimiles, mail and overnight packages.
Assist with mailing, e-mails, and any other clerical projects.

Skills, Education And Experience:

College Degree or College Course work preferred.
Real Estate knowledge and previous office experience preferred.
Excellent telephone techniques and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, such as incoming calls, guests and faxes.
Must possess ability to act competently under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional manner.
Ability to be cooperative with other employees to ensure a smooth running, effective office operation.
May perform other duties as assigned.

How many offices did my company open in the last 8 years?
Does my company offer me a free agent website with IDX listings built in?
How many experienced Realtors chose my company last year?
What is my broker’s vision for the future?
Is there genuine creativity in my company?
What role does common sense play in my company’s decisions?
What are my company’s fees for and how do they help me build my business?
Does my company foster independence and flexibility in its sales staff?
Does my company react to new market conditions with innovation and actively implement new strategies?
Am I, are we, moving forward, or treading water?
Is my company down-sizing? Or is my company growing?

20 Reasons Why Real Estate Agents Decide to Move to a New Brokerage Firm

With the exception of the sale or closure of the brokerage they are affiliated with, successful real estate salespeople rarely leave a company due to some major disruptive event. Most often it’s a series of minor events that lead to a final ‘breaking of the camel’s back’.

For many agents, those minor events accumulate over time and can result in lost opportunities, diminished income, and wasted time.

In my 29+ years of recruiting professional real estate salespeople, I have found many reasons why agents leave real estate companies.

Those most often cited by agents are:

To make more money
Career plateau or decline
Company has no growth plan
Poor office or company management
Lack of professionalism in the office
Ownership or management lacks vision
Change of management
Favoritism in the office or company
Lack of support from manager or team members
Inefficient marketing (poor client acquisition strategy)
Floor time covered by new or inept agents
Listing agent does not get their own sign calls
Value proposition not competitive at listing opportunities
Agent not appreciated by company, manager and / or fellow agents
Negativity in the office
Manager is not available, experienced, or helpful
