NEWS / INSIGHTS
Did you know that listing photos are a buyer’s first impression of a property – and an agent’s first opportunity to capture a buyer’s attention? Consider this, a frequently referenced Redfin study found that professionally photographed homes “sell for at least $934 and as much as $18,819 more than homes that were photographed by an amateur.” The study also showed that “homes photographed by a professional garner 61 percent more online views.”
Not convinced? Let’s take a look at some other recent statistics:
- 93% of all home buyers used the internet in their search; 44% of those buyers say that looking online was the first step they took
- 87% of all home buyers who searched for a home on the internet found photos to be among the most useful features of real estate websites
- Homes listed with high-quality photography sell 32% faster
- Homes with more photos sell faster, too – a home with one photo averages 70 days on market, but a home with 20 photos averages 32 days on market
The evidence proves that listing photos are a critical factor in the selling price of a home, how quickly it sells, and whether it sells at all. When it comes to your next listing, hiring a photographer is an investment that is likely to pay off.
