Understanding eXp Revenue Share: Building Passive Income in Real Estate

One of eXp Realty's most compelling value propositions is revenue share—a program that allows agents to build passive income by attracting other productive agents to the company. Understanding how it works is key to maximizing this opportunity.

    What Is Revenue Share?

eXp pays agents a percentage of the gross commission income (company dollar) generated by agents they directly or indirectly sponsor—up to 7 levels deep.

    How Revenue Share Works

When an agent you sponsor (or an agent they sponsor) pays their company dollar contribution, you receive a percentage:

Tier 13.5% of agents you directly sponsor
Tier 24.0% of agents they sponsor
    Tier 32.5% of third-level agents
    Tier 41.5% of fourth-level agents
    Tier 5-70.5% each for levels 5, 6, and 7

Real Numbers: What Revenue Share Can Look Like

Let's look at a realistic example. Assume each agent pays the full $16,000 cap to eXp:

    TierAgentsRateAnnual Revenue Share
    Tier 15 agents3.5%$2,800
    Tier 215 agents4.0%$9,600
    Tier 330 agents2.5%$12,000
    Tier 4-750+ agents0.5-1.5%$8,000+
    Total Annual Revenue Share$32,400+

*This example assumes full cap agents. Many agents cap faster or slower, affecting actual payouts.

    Important Considerations

    Production Matters

Revenue share is based on company dollar paid—agents who don't cap generate less revenue share

    🎯
    Quality Over Quantity

5 productive agents generate more revenue share than 20 struggling agents

    📊
    Team Cap Agents

Agents on reduced caps (like Bean Group's $4K cap) contribute less company dollar to the pool

    Long-Term Building

Revenue share is a marathon, not a sprint—it compounds over years, not months
